SPC ECO - For All Time

SPC ECO are the brainchild of former Curve bassist, Dean Garcia and fellow collaborator, Joey Levenson; also known for his work with So Young.

I've been fortunate enough to see the band play live on a couple of occasions in north London music venues and they seem a genuinely exciting prospect. The live band (who played without Levenson) consist of former Curve cohorts, Debbie Smith (guitar) and Monti (drums), together with Garcia's son, Harry (a gifted guitarist in his own right) and daughter, Rose Berlin, on vocals.

2009 could well be an important year for SPC ECO following the release of their debut long player, '3D' back in February. The album is a pulsing soundscape of interwoven guitar noise sprinkled with the glitter of Berlin's vocals.

During a recent performance at The Good Ship in Kilburn, SPC ECO showcased the album and had the good sense to take along a video camera. Here, courtesy of YouTube, is the stand-out track from that evening; a triumphant recording of 'For All Time'.

An MP3 of SPC ECO's debut album, 3D can be downloaded here, for a nominal contribution.
